She'd tried glucosamine and turmeric. Then she tried all three jobs at once.

A merchandiser kneeling to restock the lowest shelf of a store aisle before opening
The bottom shelf: the part of the job her knees stopped cooperating with.

Esther had tried glucosamine. Then turmeric. "We tried glucosamine and we tried turmeric as well," she says. Neither got her back down to the bottom shelf.

That shelf matters in her job. She works part time in merchandising, filling the shelves before you arrive. "You're up and down and kneeling on small shelves," she says. Then her knees stopped cooperating. "I couldn't even kneel at work or do anything. I was actually getting a bit worried about if I could carry on doing it."

People told her this was just what happens now. She didn't accept that. But one ingredient at a time hadn't changed anything either.

Why one ingredient wasn't enough

Her mother saw a Koru Nutrition ad on television and started cutting the newspaper articles out. "She actually pushed a bit and said, can you order them for us?" Esther read the website and ordered Koru Joint for both of them.

The difference from what she'd tried is simple. Koru Joint doesn't pick one job. Curcumin and boswellia soothe the joint. Vitamin C and glucosamine nourish the cartilage. Chondroitin and hyaluronic acid support the fluid that keeps a joint moving smoothly. Soothe, nourish, lubricate. Glucosamine on its own does the middle one. Turmeric on its own does the first. A sore joint is usually all three at once, which is why one ingredient can be working and still not be felt.

How the formula works

Curcumin

Soothe

Curcumin and boswellia soothe the joint and support flexibility.

Vitamin C

Nourish

Vitamin C and glucosamine nourish the cartilage.

Hyaluronic acid

Lubricate

Chondroitin and hyaluronic acid support the synovial fluid that keeps a joint moving smoothly.

Koru Joint is made in Rangiora, New Zealand.

When the Koru team explained the combination to her later, she got there first. "It's a synergy, isn't it?"

Two capsules a day. That's the routine.

Then she stopped

After a while she was doing well enough to decide it had been nothing. "I thought, oh, fine. I must've been imagining it." So she stopped. And got worse.

"I thought, holy heck, I'm going to have to keep taking it, because it really does make a huge difference."

She went back on them. "I'm pretty much functioning normally," she says, "whereas I couldn't even kneel at work or do anything." The shoulders that used to complain after a day of boxes: "It just doesn't seem to be happening."

Her spare time goes to the garden. "I've got veggies. I've got fruit. I've got fruit trees. I've got it all." Kneeling is part of that too.

"I've got veggies. I've got fruit. I've got fruit trees. I've got it all."

"I've recommended it to just about everyone"

She says it plainly, then adds: "You can only plant a seed. And if you plant a seed and it grows, well, good and well."

The bottles are on a repeat order. If you'd rather pick one up, Koru Joint is in community pharmacies such as Life and Unichem. You can also order online here, or give the team in Rangiora a call on 0800 99 99 80.

The bottom shelf is still where the job happens. "I'm all good again."
